Scholarships » Executive MSc in Cities » A transformational programme for working professionals at the London School of Economics.
One of the Executive MSc in Cities key priorities is ensuring that outstanding candidates are able to participate in the programme, even if they are without the means to meet the full costs of their study.
Applications for scholarships for the 2018/19 session have now closed. For reference, full details of the application process are outlined below. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications by the end of May 2018.
In line with the successful Urban Age model, the programme seeks to bring together stakeholders from as wide a range of contexts as possible, thereby broadening access to knowledge and debate around the way we design and govern our cities
For 2018/19 Executive MSc in Cities applicants, LSE Cities is running two scholarship schemes:
The Urban Age Scholarships offer up to £15,000 of tuition fee support. This scheme is open to all applicants who are unable to meet the full cost of tuition, regardless of nationality, current residence or professional background.
The Bloomberg Scholarships for Public Service offer up to £32,376 of tuition fee support and are open to applicants working in the public sector.
As only a limited number of awards are available, London School of Economics Cities uses a selection process that considers both the quality of the applicant and their financial need. The former will be judged on the information provided in the programme application (submitted through Graduate Admissions) and the latter will be assessed according to information provided in the LSE Cities Scholarship Application Form.
As scholarship funding is limited, the selection panel will allocate awards according to a variety of factors, including the quality of applicants and their financial need. Applicant quality will be assessed using information from their Executive MSc in Cities programme application. Financial need will be evaluated using information provided on the scholarship application form.
Applicants should carefully consider how much financial support they require before submitting their scholarship application. The panel will look favourably on applicants who can demonstrate that they have made efforts to secure funding from non-LSE sources.
Please note that successful candidates may be asked to provide proof of their financial need, such as payslips or bank statements.
The selectors will review all applications and will choose a shortlist for interview. These interviews will take place on Thursday 24 May 2018 and will be conducted via Skype. In-person interviews are not offered in order to ensure fairness to all candidates.
Scholarship decisions will be announced by the end of May 2018. All scholarships decisions are final and no appeals are possible.
